I am very lucky that I live in a beautiful town situated on the South Coast. To the North of my house I have the stunning Sussex Downs and then to the South I have the English Channel, which is a mere 5 minutes journey by car.
I really enjoy going down to the beach, especially on a cold day when the sea is really rough. It gives me time to blow all the cobwebs away and take stock of everything that is going on.When the summer finally arrives, it’s not much fun because all the tourists converge on our town, but luckily there are still some private coves I can visit.
As though that wasn’t enough, we have within walking distance of our house quite a few restaurants and pubs, so after work it’s really easy to pop out for a drink.
Every spring one of the pubs puts on a huge wine festival. With spring within sight I haven’t got long to wait now and am counting down the days to this year’s festival.Last year I was stunned at the huge array of wines on offer, some from countries I didn’t even know produced wine!
Mind you the event is becoming so popular you have to buy your ticket way in advance. It’s a pretty good deal though because for a couple of Pounds I get to drink as much wine as I like.
Last year (early on in the day I hasten to add), I can remember sampling some German Wine, a lovely Portuguese Wine and some tasty Italian Wine. Anything I drank after this has been forgotton, due solely to the fact that I enjoyed too much of the Italian wine!
This year, I think I am going to have to pace myself a little better it’s because not every day you get to sample so many tasty wines and get money back Ten Pounds!!
